Residential System: Backup Power and Cost Savings

According to Thomas Hauser, General Manager of RCT Power, the residential storage system combines a DC hybrid inverter, batteries, managing software, and a power switch that keeps a house supplied during outages. Hauser says the system can cut a household's former energy costs by up to 80%. The inverters are manufactured in Augsburg, Germany, he notes. The configuration is straightforward: PV modules on the roof connect to the hybrid inverter, which links to the batteries and then to the house grid. Hauser says the setup is sized for a family house, and he adds that RCT Power has held the highest efficiency rating in its class for six consecutive years.

Commercial Products: From Small Inverters to the CESS 200

The small commercial line offers inverters with output ranging from 15 to 30 kW, connectable to up to 45 kWp of rooftop PV, Hauser explains. Battery modules of 8 kWh each stack into a tower reaching 64 kWh total, with three PV inputs at 36 amp hours apiece. He describes this range as suited to bigger family houses and says it gives installers and planners more flexibility. For higher capacities, RCT Power's CESS 200 is an all-in-one cabinet, according to Hauser. It accepts PV arrays of roughly 120 to 130 kWp, delivers 100 kW output, and stores 233 kWh in a liquid-cooled battery. Hauser says the liquid cooling keeps the cells in a stable temperature range, warming or cooling as needed.

"It's an all-in-one solution, that means you can just connect all PV modules on the roof." Hauser · · 03:38

Industrial-Scale Storage

At the top of the range sits a cabinet Hauser describes as holding 900 kWh of battery blocks paired with a 720 kW AC inverter. Hauser notes a second battery device is mirrored on the back of the cabinet, so the arrangement shown at the booth is duplicated. Hauser stressed reliability when describing this unit, saying the inverter is kept separate from the battery packs specifically to improve system reliability. The industrial platform also comes in 700 kWh and 400 kWh configurations, he adds, giving buyers capacity options beyond the 900 kWh unit on display.

"We have the inverter separated, so it's more reliable this system." Hauser · · 04:49

Welcome to RCT Power, my name is Thomas Hauser, I'm responsible, I'm General Manager of RCT Power and co-founder. Our company is now 10 years old, we have the 10th anniversary and we are very proud of this. Founded in Konstanz in the south of Germany and I want to introduce all our products right now and we do a short walk to the first product we have for residential systems. So we are here at the residential product, later on we move to the commercial product and to the industrial product. Very important to say is we produce the inverters in Augsburg in Germany and with such a storage system we call you can save up to 80% of the former energy costs of the house. So it consists of an inverter, of batteries, managing software and also the possibility of power switch which supplies your house with power during a power outage. And you know very important to say is we are always in six years we are best in class, we have the highest efficiency and we are world leader number one. And this is actually the system how it works. You the PV modules on the roof, you just connect it to the DC hybrid inverter, you have the batteries and then it's connected to your house grid. So it suits perfectly for a family house and now we want to go over to the commercial products. So Here we are at the booth for our small commercial products where you see a different size of inverter input and output power range from 15 to 30 kilowatt and you can connect up to like 45 kilowatt peak which you have on the roof and the specialist we have now 8 kilowatt hour battery modules which you can just connect to a tower and you can it reaches up to 64 kilowatt that means you can supply bigger houses let's say family bigger family houses and you have three inputs for the PV modules always like 36 amp hours and it gives more flexibility to all installers and planners and now we move over to the commercial system with higher capacities. Here We are at our commercial product it's called SES 200. It's an all-in-one solution that means you can just connect all PV modules on the roof which has normally with this size 120-130 kilowatt peak you connect it to the cabinet we have an output power of 100 kilowatt and the battery has 230 kilowatt hours so it is liquid cooled and we have let's say all the batteries in a good temperature range that means if it's too cold if we warm it up a little bit it's too hot we cool it down a little bit and now we go to the industrial products where you can see the different sizes we Offer. So and here you see one of our industrial products this cabinet contains 900 kilowatt hours of battery blocks including the AC inverter which has a an output power of 720 kilowatt we have four battery packs situated in this cabinet each battery pack has 46 kilowatt hours and it's serial and we have the inverter separated so it's more reliable this system because of the of the function we have four times and in the middle you have the connection to the grid and all the necessary switches and for example I'm going to show you also the second battery device which included and on the back side we have the same and so it's all together 900 kilowatt it's available for 700 and also for 400 kilowatt Hours. You for following me through the RCT power world and our product and if you are interested in more information please see our website thank You.
