Hybrid G4 Pro: A Second Battery Port Opens the Door to V2X

The Hybrid G4 Pro is SolaX's new standard universal inverter, shown alongside the established Hybrid G4 line. According to Rudolf Schell, Technical Manager at SolaX Power Deutschland, the model introduces a third MPP tracker on units from 8 kW upward. The more consequential addition, however, is a second battery connection port on the inverter itself. That second port is what allows the SolaX DC Wallbox to attach directly to the inverter rather than through a separate charger circuit. Schell frames this as the mechanism enabling PV surplus charging straight into the vehicle. It also sets up the discharge path used for vehicle-to-home operation, which he demonstrates later on the show floor.

Bidirectional DC Wallbox: PV Charging and Vehicle-to-Home Discharge

The DC wallbox connects on the DC side to the inverter's second battery port and on the AC side to a three-phase supply capable of 22 kW. Schell describes it as more than a charger: it lets a vehicle battery act as a household storage source. Surplus PV can push up to 7 kW into the EV, and the same link runs in reverse for discharge. At the second booth, Schell demonstrates this live, pulling energy from the vehicle battery through the charger and the inverter's second battery port into a sub-distribution board. He states the system draws up to 7 kW from the vehicle to cover household base loads, including nighttime consumption, while the wallbox retains standard 11 kW and 22 kW AC charging.

"We can draw up to seven kilowatts from the vehicle battery at any time and make that available to the household." Schell · · 03:04

Heat Pump and X-Hub: Coordinating a Wider Home Energy Stack

SolaX is expanding beyond inverters and batteries. Schell announces a SolaX heat pump reaching market availability in 2026, which he says completes a single-family-home ecosystem sourced entirely from one established manufacturer. Electromobility, heating, storage, and PV generation now come from a single manufacturer, per his account. Coordinating those components falls to the new X-Hub, an energy management layer using weather forecasts, consumption patterns, dynamic electricity tariffs, and battery or EV state-of-charge data. Schell says it produces individualized daily charge and discharge strategies, deciding, for instance, whether to discharge stored energy or draw cheap grid power instead.

"SolaX is evolving from a pure inverter and battery manufacturer into a comprehensive system components provider." Schell · · 03:37

Frequently asked questions

The G4 Pro adds a third MPP tracker on 8 kW and larger models and a second battery connection port. Schell identifies the second port as the feature that enables direct DC wallbox integration.

It connects to the inverter’s second battery port on the DC side and can discharge up to 7 kW from the vehicle battery into the household. Schell demonstrated this live, routing power through a sub-distribution board to cover base loads.

Yes. Alongside DC-coupled PV surplus charging, it charges via AC at up to 22 kW three-phase, and SolaX continues to offer standard 11 kW and 22 kW AC-only wallboxes separately.

Schell states the heat pump becomes available in 2026, extending SolaX’s single-family-home offering to include heating alongside PV, storage, and EV charging.

According to Schell, it uses weather forecasts, consumption behavior, dynamic electricity tariffs, and battery or EV state-of-charge data to generate daily charge and discharge strategies. It decides, for example, between discharging stored energy or buying cheaper grid power.

Schell says the V2X function charges surplus PV energy into the electric vehicle at up to 7 kW on the DC side.
