ESS: Stacking Replaces Wiring
Rudolf Schell, Technical Manager at SolaX Power, calls the ESS system his personal favorite among the products on display. It pairs a hybrid inverter rated between 5 and 15 kW with battery modules delivering 10 to 30 kWh of capacity. Modules stack directly on top of each other, and according to Schell, this stacking creates the electrical connection automatically, without separate cabling between units.
The BMS module sits on top of the stack, and the inverter itself simply mounts above that, connecting straight into the battery. Installers only need to wire PV strings, the earth connection, and optional communication cables at the side. Schell describes this as a fast, simple installation with full backup power capability, suited to typical residential storage deployments.
"That means, the way the system is set up here, I no longer need any wiring."

X3 Hybrid G4 Pro: Built for Larger Homes
The X3 Hybrid G4 Pro extends SolaX Power's residential portfolio with a second, independent battery connection as standard. Schell explains that this port can run a separate battery string independently from an already-installed one, a feature the standard G4 version lacks. A third MPP tracker rounds out the hardware changes.
Power ranges from 4 to 15 kW, which Schell says suits larger home storage systems rather than entry-level installations. The added battery flexibility matters most for retrofit projects, where an existing battery string needs to coexist with a newly added one on the same inverter.
"In addition, I have a third MPP tracker on board here."

Container Storage Moves to Liquid Cooling
SolaX Power's new container-based storage system replaces air cooling with liquid cooling, according to Schell. The change accompanies a stronger AC-battery inverter rated at 125 kW charge and discharge power, connected to a larger battery bank offering 261 kWh of storage capacity.
Schell describes the unit as a turnkey containerized solution: all components arrive pre-installed and pre-wired, ready for operation. On-site work is limited largely to making the AC connection, which Schell says speeds up deployment for C&I projects.
"The main difference is that it is no longer air-cooled, but liquid-cooled."

Frequently asked questions
What makes the ESS system's installation different from typical storage systems?
According to Rudolf Schell, stacking the battery modules connects them electrically without separate cabling. Only PV strings, the earth connection, and optional communication cables need to be wired on site.
What capacity range does the ESS system cover?
The inverter ranges from 5 to 15 kW, paired with battery modules offering 10 to 30 kWh of storage capacity. Schell says it suits typical residential storage applications.
What's new in the X3 Hybrid G4 Pro compared to the standard G4?
The Pro version adds a second, independent battery connection as standard along with a third MPP tracker. Schell notes power ranges from 4 to 15 kW, aimed at larger home storage systems.
Why did SolaX Power switch its container storage system to liquid cooling?
Schell says the new system is more powerful than the previous air-cooled version, with liquid cooling supporting a stronger 125 kW AC-battery inverter and a larger 261 kWh battery bank.
How is the container BESS delivered to a project site?
Schell describes it as a schlüsselfertig (turnkey) container solution, arriving pre-wired and operational. Site work is limited mainly to making the AC connection.
Who is presenting these products and in what role?
Rudolf Schell, Technical Manager at SolaX Power, leads the walkthrough at The smarter E Europe 2025 in Munich, covering the ESS system, X3 Hybrid G4 Pro, and the new container BESS.
